I need to do it/Why CAN’T I just do it?
I hear from patients/clients all the time:
“I just need to make myself do what I know is right with my ____ (diet/exercise/sleep/stress)”
“I just don’t do it, why??”
The problem is, this approach doesn’t work.
In fact, I’ve said these same words to myself!
I know how you feel.
Motivation is a fickle friend. .
Nice to have around, necessary in an emergency
But unreliable and wildly fluctuating most of the time.
What DOES work?
